HDRI Joins the European Commission's Pact for Skills

The Human Development Research Initiative (HDRI) is pleased to announce that it has officially become a member of the Pact for Skills, the flagship European Commission initiative mobilising public and private stakeholders around a shared goal: investing in the up- and reskilling of Europe's workforce.


HDRI's application has been reviewed and accepted by the European Commission, and our organisation is now listed among the Pact for Skills community of partners on the official Pact for Skills platform.


Why this matters

As a youth-led civil society organisation working across six thematic pillars, including Economic, Social & Cultural Rights and Civic Space, Governance & Rule of Law, HDRI has long championed the idea that young people must be active participants in shaping the skills agenda that will define their futures. Membership in the Pact for Skills allows us to:

  • Connect with a Europe-wide network of businesses, public authorities, social partners, and civil society organisations working on skills development;

  • Access shared resources, guidance materials, and funding opportunities through the Pact's Knowledge and Guidance Hubs;

  • Contribute a youth-centred perspective to discussions on reskilling, employability, and lifelong learning across the EU; and

  • Explore future partnerships and joint initiatives aligned with our mission of youth civic participation and democratic governance.


What's next

In the coming months, HDRI will be defining concrete commitments under the Pact for Skills framework, reflecting our ongoing programmes and our ambition to strengthen young people's role in the future of Europe's labour market. We will share updates on these commitments, along with relevant news, events, and resources, through our website and social media channels.
