HDRI Takes Part in First Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform Meeting
Following its selection as a member of the EU Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform, the Human Development Research Initiative (HDRI) took part in its first Platform meeting, held online. HDRI was represented by its President, Gurgen Petrosyan.
The Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform brings together public authorities, civil society organisations, researchers and industry to support the EU's ambition of reducing air, water and soil pollution to levels no longer harmful to health and natural ecosystems. HDRI's participation in the first meeting marks the start of its active involvement in the Platform's work. HDRI will bring a youth perspective and its expertise in civic participation and democratic governance to European discussions on pollution and environmental justice.
During the meeting, members received updates on the Platform's upcoming activities and on related events organised through the Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform. The following dates were announced:
24 September 2026, 14:00 – Online Circular Economy Talk. The session, "Scaling circular solutions for a clean environment: From innovation to market uptake of technologies for wastewater treatment and pollution removal assessment," will look at how innovative technologies can move from development to wider use. 7 December 2026 – First Zero Pollution Forum. The Forum will take place for the first time, creating a new space for stakeholders to exchange views and share progress on the zero pollution agenda.
29–30 April 2027 – Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform. The next edition of the Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform conference will bring together actors working on the transition to a circular economy across Europe.
HDRI will continue to follow the Platform's work closely and will share further updates on its contributions. Organisations and young people interested in pollution, circularity or environmental justice are welcome to contact HDRI to explore collaboration.
