The Human Development Research Initiative (HDRI) was born from a simple conviction: that young people should not just be subjects of development policy, but its authors. What began as a small student initiative in Paris has grown into a national youth-led research and policy-oriented civil society organization with EU institutions, international organizations, and policymakers across Europe.

Our History

HDRI was founded in Paris by eight Sciences Po graduate students who set out to build a platform for youth-led, evidence-based research on human development — rooted in inclusivity, integrity, and innovation.
